Ok, I am using dvd-rw to record in my standalone, then ripping to the PC w/ dvd decrypter, then adding a menu with TMPGEnc, creating dvd files, then burning.
The DVDs are only working 50% of the time on my Sony 715p which had previously played everything I had thrown at it, outside of PAL. All discs have worked perfectly on my Cyberhome CHDVD-500.
I have burned the DVDs with TMPGEnc, Recordnow 7.2, and with Sony NTI DVD backup. I usually don't add an AUDIO_TS folder, it has never mattered before, but I even tried that, and the results were still mixed.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Could it be the jpeg I use for the menu?

More likely it's the bitrate of the rip, quality of the media, or burning speed.
Sony's are finicky players, and often won't play what many cheaper ones will.Cheers, Jim

I've tried 4X and 8X, both with mixed results. I don't think it is the bit rate either because the Sony will play the standalone burns as well.
It kills me because I'll burn the same disc, twice, one will play, one wont.
